It is seriously the best comfort movie that has ever existed, sadlkfj;sald. It is precisely as delightful as waking up and lying in bed all YAWN I don't have to get up at all today if I don't want to *snuggles into blankets*.

(Possibly the reason I can't think of a better analogy is that I'm doing exactly that at the moment.)

The Kage Baker books are on my list, but they are the damndest things to try and find. Although I am reminded that I will be in the vicinity of Chapters later, and they are quite the thing for a lot of slightly more obscure sci-fi/fantasy (at greatly reduced prices). Note to self: pick up more O'Brian whilst there also.

If you don't want to wade into a whole other series whilst you are Company-ing, I might recommend Astolat's fics? The short ones are perfect gems, the long ones are the absolute ideal length - meaty, but not epic - for adding an Aubreyad flavour to an evening, and the tone is so incredibly perfect that it's hard to believe that the ho-yay and the wacky space/genderswap/magical AUs aren't canon. Of course, she did write a certain set of wildly popular dragon books that are not an Aubrey/Maturin series AU at all *eyedart*, so this is probably to be expected. Astolat's M&C fic is... well, what you get when you take a can of Diet O'Brian, shake it up, and tip in the pixie sticks of fandom. There's no better way I can explain it, until you're sitting shell-shocked in front of your computer screen going, "Oh my god, I... I just read Aubrey/Maturin genderswap mpreg fic, and it was fucking amazing."
