NEW LAPTOP

It's a Dell Studio XPS 16¹ and ahhhh, ahhhhhhhhhhhhh, it's so shiny and the screen is so big and the HD is so beefy and the RAM is so plentiful and it's loaded with Vista which makes me crazy but come the weekend I am installing the Windows 7 RC how can I wait what will I install first WHAT WILL I CALL IT OH GOD PLEASURE OVERLOAD


¹Trufax: for all the Apple "just works" schtick I hear, my flist sure does turn up an amazing amount of people freaking out because their Mac/iPod/etc. has broken for the N^th time. Dell laptops are freaking troopers, and I can now say from personal experience that you can literally use them until they fall apart - and then some. Also: customisation potential.

I have a cheap Toshiba that (God forbid) I have yet to have any problems with that are not solved by taking out the battery, blowing on it, and restarting. It came with XP and was half the price of a Mac laptop and I love it to bits.

this is the same laptop i have, and i love it to pieces.

however i do find that it overheats terribly. i don't think it's caused any problems so far, but it does worry me. hopefully yours won't have the same problem?

Ugh on the Vista, though. good luck with Windows 7--i've heard it's more Vista-y than Vista. Do write a review of how it is, I trust your opinion more than pundits on the internet. <3
