Before I brave the wind and rain to go home, a poll! My sister ooh-ed and aah-ed over my BSG 'Good Hunting' hoodie, was very impressed (and not just fake impressed, either!) upon finding out I designed it myself, and promptly suggested I sell it. I sort of went 'enh', mostly because I was busy, but now I have a couple of other designs kicking around in my head. Also, the reason I caved and made my own BSG shirt in the first place was that I found a lot of BSG merch to be either:

a) fugly, or

b) overpriced and only available in the colour you don't like/too small/too big/no sleeves/men's sizes/annoying ringer sleeves, etc.

Are we talking US$30? *makes face* Not that I begrudge you the $$ at all, but that's kind of beyond my budget, especially considering the amount of postage I'll have to pay. Is the fabric quality worth it?

Anyway. I love that design and I'd love to see any other designs you come up with, and I fully INTEND to buy, but my financial situation is not so hot that I can give you a firm and resounding AYE at this point.

We are talking $30 - the final price for the Good Hunting one was $27.90, so I was figuring on a $2 mark-up, based on the principle that every time I make so many sales, I can afford to buy a shirt for myself. The $27.90, though - bear in mind that that is for the hoodie (already significantly more expensive than an ordinary babydoll or whatever), and that the price goes up according to how many/complex the prints are. FWIW, though, the fabric quality of the hoodie itself is v. good. So COMFY.

Also! Spreadshirt has an EU branch (though I think the product range differs slightly, for whatever reason). If there was interest from UK folks and such, I could set up a mirror shop; d'you know if that would bring down shipping to AU as opposed to from the US?

...And by that I meant: We are talking $30US.

Australia is just as fuckall far away from the US as the UK, and I think the USD exchange rate is marginally better than the euro, but I'm not sure. Probably not enough of a difference to merit a mirror shop on my account only.

I do need more winter tops. And that is such an awesome design. Tell me about the others you have planned!

Depending on whether I can find high-res enough stills, I'd love to do a sort of ship series - Galactica, Basestar, Cylon raider, and such.

Also a (slightly cattier) variant on the 'Your mom/girlfriend is a Cylon' theme.

And I have a vision in my head of a sort of... stats sheet for the Viper, except... I don't have any Viper stats. Still, there is always Wikipedia, or making the text notquitelegible.

You realize that if I say yes to any of this, I will be giving in. They will have won. The entire architecture of my carefully constructed denial will come crashing down. So I can't possibly answer the poll.

After I actually see the damn show? And am in a somewhat more splurge-friedly financial situation?

Not to be a wet blanket, but ... a note of caution:

Low profile is recommended. Don't want any corporate lawyer johnnies coming down on your head, demanding all profits and merchandise to be sent forthwith, and BTW desist, thankseverso.

(I quite accidentally made the acquaintance of the lawyers for Warner/JKR in a similar wacky adventure, y'see .....)

Of course if you went with referential designs only, Glarkware style, then you'd be okay.
