One day, I'll finish resizing all the five million rest of my photos from Italy.

For now, the first set.



VERONA

We only spent a few hours here - between finding a place to park the tour bus, and having lunch, we only had time for two sights. Admittedly, I took up more time than I should have in both of them.



Verona Amphitheatre:
Still used, in the summer, for operas. There's something right about that. How history should be.

























'Juliet's Balcony':
A tourist trap, more likely than not. But it was quiet when we went there, and it doesn't matter if it's real or not. That isn't the point.







There's a statue of Juliet hidden behind that tree. One tradition is that if you rub her well-worn right breast, you'll have good luck for a year. In the other direction, leading to the tiny, secluded little courtyard, there's a corridor, lined with the bright screens of audio information stands, and - well. A second tradition is that, if you leave a message there, you will be granted true love for eternity.
