(no subject)

OKAY SO. Announcement number one: pursuant to my capslocky post of triumphant glee, I can (probably) make it to Millicon. Let there be rejoicing! Also be ready for me to start poking around and seeing if any charitable souls still have bed/couch-space in their hotel rooms for little old me. (Feel free to, you know, inform me of such in the comments, if you'd like. :D?)

Announcement number two: WELL. Millicon, Dragon*Con. Dragon*Con, Millicon. Five weeks apart. And both aaaalllll the way on the other side of the Atlantic from me. One is the 19th-22nd July, up in Chicago, the other is the 1st-4th September, down in Atlanta. Pending an assessment of finances, I kind of want to attend both. But even so, the prospect of paying for two trans-Atlantic return fares, only five weeks apart, is... lame. So, also pending financial totting-up, I am considering, instead, using the money which would go on a second airfare to spend those five weeks couch-surfing and student-faring my way from Con #1 down to Con #2. Which, mi amigos, is where you come in.

[Poll #976820]

NOTHING YOU SAY HERE IS BINDING. I just want to get a rough sense of whether people would be willing/a vague sort of road-map so I can estimate what kind of costs I'd be looking at in comparison to flying home after Millicon and flying back for Dragon*Con.

So... yeah, okay.

THIS IS ALL VERY EXCITING.

:D

Be sure to look into AirPasses, since you are a student and not from the US. That will help a lot with any interstate travel on this side of the water!

(And if you have no idea what I'm talking about, I can elaborate.)

I will be visiting friends in Chicago, as it happens, around about the 19th-22nd July (although I will not be at the con but off in the North Woods camping on that particular weekend!) IF, however, on the 24th or 25th of July (haven't decided which yet) you would like a ride from Chicago towards, say, Detroit -- well, I'll have a space in the car for you. If that fits in which other plans which have yet to unfold. Heh.

I have NO CLUE where I will be during any of that time. Probably somewhere in the Midwest, if I'm not in Atlanta. If I am in Atlanta over time of Dragon*Con, you have a standing offer of space pre- and post-con, like the last couple of years.

And if I'm in the Midwest, or in Louisville...it is pretty. And you should come visit. :D

The end of July is going to be pretty nuts on account of finals, and after the beginning of August I have...no idea whatsoever where I'll be living. But! Pre-graduation, my couch is good for at least a night or two. :D

:O!! Perhaps you can spend more time with meeeeeeee! In any case, my floorspace is your floorspace for Millicon, since right now it's just Josie and I in my flat; that is, with the exception of the night of the HP 7 release, since Dad's coming to stand in line with me and stay overnight. But J says you can find a hotel room floor to crash on.

Like I started to say in the commenty box -- I could possibly house you if I get into grad school, in which case I'll be staying in Atlanta most likely. However, if I don't get in, it's entirely possible I'll end up going back to North Georgia and living with my parents and slob of a sister, and I am not afraid to say that 99.9% of the time I hate living with her, and wouldn't dream of putting anyone else through it.

In any case, I live right abouts where Dragon*Con is, so if you did end up staying with me it'd probably make the most sense for it to be the last leg of your journey before heading to the hotels. :)
