OKAY SO. EVERYONE, AND I MEAN EVERYONE, NEEDS TO GO BUY SKULDUGGERY PLEASANT, BY DEREK LANDY. IT IS ABOUT A WISE-CRACKING DETECTIVE. WHO IS ALSO A SKELETON. *_* THE CHILD OF JACK SPARROW AND SAM VIMES BY WAY OF CROWLEY AND AN OLD-FASHIONED REVOLVER AND ALSKJFHDSADSJ.
I BOUGHT IT ON SIGHT, LET MY FRAPPE MELT READING THE FIRST 50 PAGES, AND THEN ON PAGE 58 I ENCOUNTERED THE FOLLOWING PARAGRAPH.
Skulduggery Pleasant's car was a 1954 Bentley R-Type Continental, one of only 208 ever made, a car that housed a six-cylinder, 4.5-litre engine, and was retro-fitted with central locking, climate control, satellite navigation and a host of other modern conveniences. Skulduggery told Stephanie all of this when she asked. She'd have been happy with, "It's a Bentley."
At which point I nearly wet myself with joy and had to run home and update.
Fuck. Just fuck. I love this book so much already and I'm only on page 58. With at least three laugh-out-loud-in-public moments already, and counting. I can see the Tim Burton movie in my head already. My only consolation at how badly I have crumbled w/r/t my 'no new distractions until after exams' resolution is that I anticipate finishing this tonight. Speaking of which, CAN'T TALK NOW. SKULDUGGERY AWAITS.
GOD I AM SCREAMING WITH LOVE INSIDE. I MIGHT CRY.

And it was just this morning that I gazed upon my bookshelf with despair and announces 'I SHALL BUY NO MORE BOOKS UNTIL I HAVE READ THESE ONES!'. Damn you.
