I'm feeling a bit rotten after my birthday, and semi-internet-exile, etc. Therefore, I think everyone should remind me why their friends - and by extension, humanity - are wonderful. Dance for me, monkeys. Also, pimp this. Seriously. These things suck if nobody shows up.

I seem to be blessed by finding people to surround myself with that are so dedicated to ideas and causes that they love. Another example is Rachel, who's gone after what she wanted with singleminded intensity.

Once upon a time, Scout was one of those people I idolized the writing of (see: groundtoplayon) and I didn't actually have the guts to talk to.

One day I swallowed my pride and got up the guts to join her game after a year and a half of reading it, and now she's just. I don't even know where to begin.

But one of my very best friends. Ever. It's impossible for me to explain how much less of a life I'd have without Scout.
