You made it? OH, it's so neat! I love all the bright, happy colors and the sparkles. Especially the beading around the bird cage, that's such a nice detail touch. I feel like I should be a witch in a fairy tale saying SING, BIRD, SING ONLY FOR ME!
Is a ceiling decoration? Or more like something to hang on the wall or a doorknob?
Well, in theory it's an anything-decoration, since it just ends in a length of ribbon that can be tied/stapled/etc. to whatever you want. Currently, though, it's hanging from a length of kite-string stretched above my bed (oh landlord, you and your not-letting-us-attach-anything-to-anything-else), and when we move back home, I'm going to hang it from my ceiling.
I have these periodic fits of craftiness - such as when tricorn hats and waistcoats get made, for example - during which I basically go a little insane (see icon expression) for trinkets and trimmings and baubles and scrapbooking supplies and all manner of doodads that make me a danger to myself and others in any arts-n-crafts type store.
And then things like this happen!
I have a few more birds/cage!ornaments/assorted sparklies, so I do not think Bird #1 will be alone for long.
I know what you mean about periodic fits of craftiness. Yours seem more productive, though. *eyes lamps half-made for siblings 2 years ago* These look like the kind of things - yes - that are festive but should be seen year round. Preeeeeetty.
They are getting progressively less Christmassy. Unless, I guess, on the first day of Christmas, your true love gave to you a steampunk partridge in a pear tree...
I kind of thought about it for a bit? But I kind of spent waaaay more time/obsessive effort on these things than I could possibly justify charging for, and also I am (or was) way too attached to them to sell them.
Also also, close up you can really see all the LOL SUPERGLUE, etc.
Also3, the baubles I was using for the cages were Christmas ornaments from a home decor place that has since gone out of business.
So, uh. I sorta think the universe is sending me a sign, there.
Oh, well. I can totally understand. When I was really into drawing, I never wanted to give away stuff that I drew because I loved it. That sounds really conceited, but damn, that stuff took a long time.
And you know how awesome it is, and we know how awesome it is, so that's something. :)
No, I totally get it - it's like a mixture of shame-because-you-can-see-the-flaws-more-pronouncedly-than-anyone-else and NO DON'T TAKE IT FROM ME IT'S MY BABY.

After writing the above, I flailed about then wrote several pages on the Steampunk Project. Sophie, I love you!

If it's sparkly, it's Christmassy, imo.

It was like I had a fever, and the only cure was MORE SPARKLIES.
