Or: many of you east-coasters will have just gone to bed after staying up too late to RP. I will be getting kicked out of the library at the same time that you're leaving work tomorrow. Today. Whatever.

Conclusion: you should tell me/leave me nice things in the comments so that I can regain a little of my will to live during coffee-breaks. Bonus points if said things involve attractive celebrities, silly comment-fic, or animals adopting other animals.

I don't know where the animal adoptions are all found, but this site is an animal photographer's, principally dogs, and there are a looooot of incredibly adorable puppies there. My current favorite isn't even a tiny puppy - it is this one:

Um, nice things-- here, have lots! kate_nepveu assembled this list and keeps it reasonably updated, and shared it with me when I was quite ARGH over school things myself. I pull it out every so often and pick a random thing or two to look at, and it always makes me smile.

No! No it is not! It is ugly and underheated and makes undergraduates jump through ridiculous hoops for the 99.9% of the collection which they are not even allowed take outside the library building once they finally get their hands on it! WE HATES IT.

But I am considerably more optimistic today, and I want to ring up a Professor Anthony Harvey and thank him for that, because he is a SEXY BEAST that writes about Goidelic lenition and Latinate consonantal gemination and the relationship betwixt in a way that MAKES SENSE and that I can UNDERSTAND and that is actually PRETTY INTERESTING.

(It is sad that finding an academic I can actually read is a capslock-worthy occasion.)

ETA: Though it probably doesn't help that a large chunk of yesterday was devoted to interminable tracts by this guy. Now I know: he's not only PART of mind-numbingly uninteresting and esoteric history, he WRITES it, too. And I have had to study both. God damn you, Eoin MacNeill. GTFO MY LIFE ALREADY.

Why is it impossible to get a terminal MA? For that matter, there are other fucking language groups to take preservation courses about besides Native North American ones. Can't I do Rhaedo-Romanche somewhere? DON'T BE HATIN' ON ROMANCHE, YO.
