Since I can't edit comments any more because LJ are whores, I should add that I'm particularly in the market for happy gay sap. But I'm amply willing to be pimped anything and everything.

Pretty much as opposite to happy gay sap as you can get, but: if you loved Rome, I reckon you have a pretty high chance of loving Deadwood as well. Rome:ancient world :: Deadwood:old west, and one day, someone somewhere will write a fic with Atia and Al Swearengen in the same room, and the rest of the world will cease to exist because there will be no room for anything else besides the AWESOME.

Also, Blazanov. AHHHH, BLAZANOV. AND MERRICK. And sd;flkjsal oh god, Doc Cochran will break your heart. AND MR. WU! al;jfsslad it's so amazing. AMAZING. Why does HBO give birth to these beautiful, terrible children, and kill them after 2-3 seasons.

unravels

I have to be pretty specific, I think. I have had series recced to me that are in a pile by my computer, tv shows filling up the Tivo, books gathering dust under the window (not enough room left on the shelves), movies in the middle of my neverending Netflix queue, etc etc etc. It is not that I don't believe these things are going to be wonderful. It's that I spent my weekend doing jobsearches, sleeping, and cleaning out my linen closet. Things that were on The List. I also had 'work on new story' and 'watch more [anime series]' on The List, but I didn't get there. I don't think I am that busy (see: sleeping) but I am still notorious for watching/reading/seeing something and being excited about it that everyone else saw/read/watched two years ago.

So! Rec me something that I can see/do/make, start to finish, in 30 minutes or less. Commitment to anything longer apparently makes me put stuff on the Special Shelf for 'later' which may come in a few years, and I want to be able to tell you how awesome it is now. It's really terrible. I'm beginning to think I have the attention span of a gnat.

HAHAHA. Have a QI Compilation Show, clocking in at 28m:49s. Which... I suspect the last ten minutes may be cut off, but: conveniently within specified time limit.

:D It's pretty rare to find a half hour of television that both makes me laugh a lot and which I don't come out of feeling dumber. I will never look at bananas the same way again. And holiday themed! XD Awesome, as suspected - thank you. :]
