Well, I wouldn't call him evil! I mean, he did like fifty million amazing things for Rome, ruled over a golden age of prosperity, founded the Pax Romana that lasted for 200 years, etc. He was just also, you know, an incredibly shrewd, ruthless, and brilliantly manipulative son of a bitch.
I really loved S2 Octavian, though. :( I thought it was a pretty logical progression of what would happen if you took the already warped kid of S1, sent him off into the hinterfucklands of the empire for a few years, and then gave him an army to bring back to the city that murdered his uncle and essentially beat him up and kicked him out. MY FAVOURITE, THOUGH, is when you can still see flashes of baby!S1!Octavian - namely every time he's onscreen with Titus Pullo. *blathers*
