I did not realize it was a sort-of finale midseason thing, so I kept expecting it to fall through. But the celebration scenes really got me. And all those pretty, pretty pictures of Earth from space!
I still think it would have been awesome if they'd appeared on an Age of Sail-era version of Earth. But even as it was... you know there are survivors! Haven't they ever seen Legend, etc? ;)
I am not sure I will ever see more than a certain percentage of that celebration montage, what with being blinded by floods of tears. But just. Just. lessthanthree9837459834
(Also, since this has been one of my potential FF!verse retirement/happy-ending resolutions since like 2005, I cannot stop imagining certain Three Amigos rediscovering Earth-That-Is-Again-as-result-of-Academy-Plot. Main reason it will probably never happen: I totes cannot write something that is epic beyond the power of words to describe its epicness. Ness.)
:D Really? I have got to go reread that plot. It was epic. Beyond the power of words to describe its epicness-ness.
I've been thinking about Fahye's fic request. It would need all the bits we've both already suggested, maybe modified, and then some. Epic beyond... etc. What do you think - do you want to give it a shot? I go back and forth on this. I think AU would still have to be specified, but still.
