Why endless rain is bad: it convinces you that a complete LotR rewatch is a good idea. I have the three extended editions, I have a cosy set-up, and I am about to go forage for supplies. We will see how long it takes me to die of dehydration from weeping far I get.

Goodness gracious -- I did the same thing in Venice. *offers bottled water*

I am relatively all right up to "I can't carry it for you - but I can carry you! Come on!" When I saw that in the cinema (having wept a little five times previously), I just started sobbing - noisy, messy sobs. For the rest of the film. And through all the credits. And out of the cinema. And all the way to the train station. And all the way home on the train. I brought myself under control. My friend said "Grey Havens." I lost it again.

There was one moment I did stop crying, in the Grey Havens scene, and that was to shout "What the fuck is Celeborn doing there?!"

The Lighting of the Beacons = OMFG.

My friend and I did a sketch for her drama A-level which involved me as the grizzled old man and her as the naive young novice, who sat alone in a tiny hut at the top of a Gondorian mountain, and I taught her the secret use of The Match, should the time come. "There have been 100 generations of McArnors on this mountain, and maybe YOU will be on the one to light the Beacon."

(*cough* You are involved in RPGs, yes?)

It's just that I'm currently involved in an Age of Sail RPG that has EATEN MY BRAIN, and thus I am pimping it to anyone who might be interested (and quite a few who won't.) It is an obscene amount of fun. :D

They so do. No problemo. ^^ If you're interested in the future, you know where to find us - there's only one Aubreyad character taken so far.

*goes back to trying to explain a bloody spy mission to Sir Arthur Wellesley* XD
