aslkjgmgmmmf my laptop is starting to experience some really bad freezing issues, so I finally gave in and ordered some memory. I only have 512MB, guys. D: My baby is a Dell Latitude D505, which - well, let me put it this way. The chassis is literally starting to fall apart, and... I have become extremely adept at reattaching keys that come off, so I sent it in with my dad to Wayne the IT Guy (om nom company discounts with retailers) to see if he could get his hands on a new one.
Except they don't make parts for the Dell D505 anymore.

Anyway, I have been promised a ~*~new Macbook~*~ as a graduation present (to be cunningly purchased just before my TCD student discount with Apple expires), but I just. I need this tanker to tide me over. My wallet hurts a bit, but it will be worth it.
On the subject of beloved but somewhat aged men-of-war, look for a post later re: HMS Surprise, and more specifically about a page and a half of prose that just shows why O'Brian > everyone forever.
