THIS KEEPS HAPPENING. I have a Thought in the middle of the night - mostly creative; sometimes otherwise - and when I wake up, my entire forearm is covered in semi-cryptic notes. I'm not sure why I always assume I can decipher my sleepy keywords, let alone my sleepy handwriting. For that matter, I'm not sure why I keep a pen by my bedside, but not a pad of paper.

(Ink on the skin - I suppose I assume I'll remember it better.)

Flist, for what do you regularly forego post-its and instead grab up a ballpoint to write on your hand(s)?

Phone numbers, building codes (like dial 5735736938448 to get in the front door), grocery lists... anything I need to write down RIGHT NOW and don't have paper handy. I will actually write on anything. I suppose it's gotten a little better with the magic box - now lists, etc. go into the 'notes' thingy if they can wait for me to pick it up and go into that program, because the magic box is always there. It's sort of creepy.

I... will actually write on my hand rather than use Google Docs/Google Notebook/a private LJ entry/whatever, unless I have to actually (for example) c&p a URL, even if my laptop is literally on my lap at the time. And then later, I transfer said notes to... paper, most usually (ie, whatever Moleskine I'm using at the time, regardless of my talent for misplacing them in the chaos known as my room).

Go figure.
