HOKAY. I have had super-limited interweb access the last week or so, and none over the past couple of days, but luckily, I uploaded all of these to Mediafire before leaving the country. So here we are, the long-awaited music post consisting solely of covers of what is, in my humble opinion, one of the greatest pieces of music ever composed: Carol of the Bells. Follow the cut to frolic in all the versions I had time to upload, both traditional and somewhat more... unconventional. Battery running low, so I don't have time to describe them all, but they are ALL worth a listen. All of them. Possibly I will upload more when I return to a more reliable internet connection. Stay tuned! Anyway.
King's Singers
The St. Olaf Choir
Vienna Boys' Choir

Pittsburgh Symphony Brass
Boston Pops Orchestra
Home Alone OST
Brian Harris

Unlabelled Techno Remix
History lesson! Carol of the Bells was originally a Ukranian folk song called Schedryk, sung around the time of the New Year in hope of plenty in the year to come. So, here are some gorgeous versions of the latter for your enjoyment:
Irkutsuk University Choir
Tanya Tsikhotska
Mitya Kuznetsov
Kiev Chamber Choir
Now, since I have been so generous with my music collection, I think you should all return the favour. I want everyone to upload as many other versions of Carol of the Bells as they have, and post them in the comments, so we can have an orgy of carol-y, bells-y goodness.
Merry Christmas, everyone. :D

I only have two versions of the Carol of the Bells, and one is the techno version you uploaded. But here is Rockapella. Merry Christmas, and thank you!

Somehow, somehow I will find a way to get these onto my iPod today without my computer here. I think my mother's computer has iTunes. We will have Carol of the Bells for Christmas, dammit. YAY.
Thanks for the carol-y goodness! Hope you're having a good one, too - I must now go comfort a panicked dog who is making the Big Scared Trembling Puppy Eyes at me due to tornado watches and thunderstorms outside. Tornadoes. On Christmas. I ask you.

I've loved Carol of the Bells since before I knew it was a carol! It certainly wasn't a Christmas standard in France when I was a kid, and this was the first version I ever heard, back in 1989. From George Winston's December, piano solo: very peaceful and soothing. :)
